Casa Damiano was originally a group of three small farmhouses built in the early 19th century which have now been converted into three spacious self-catering apartments.

The property has super views, is very private being surrounded by fields and woodland and yet is only three miles from the hilltop town of Gualdo, one of the most sought after destinations for second home buyers in the whole of central Italy.

The village may be small but it has a shop, bar, bank and restaurant and in the summer is host to some fine festivals which attract a lot of locals from the surrounding villages and towns.

Close at hand is the larger town of Sarnano, the main town in the area, still quite small, but again full of life in the summer months and the main local ski resort over the winter, snow permitting.

The town has a good choice of bars and restaurants and is the gateway to some unique excursions into the mountains which form its impressive backdrop.

For those interested in the area's history there is much to see in the surrounding towns. Here you will not find the famous museums of Florence or Rome but instead a large network of small and understated but charming little museums.

History surrounds the traveller in the local architecture and the traditions which in this part of Italy are religiously maintained.

Fine local produce is available in the shops and markets, from the local salami, to various types of pasta, dolci and a fine choice of local red and white wines, from Gotico to Pecorino.

The large private pool is exclusive to the property and there is also a sauna room and jacuzzi available to guests, with a small gymnasium also on site..

Within 40 minutes are the popular Adriatic beaches of Civitanova Marche and Porto Sant'Elpidio.

This Marche farmhouse is also ideally located for visiting such cultural centres as Ascoli Piceno, Offida and Fermo, as well as the stunning Monti Sibillini National Park.

The countryside around the property is unspoilt and perfect for taking a lazy summer stroll and finding a spot for a picnic.

A visit to the local university town and provincial capital of Macerata should also be high on the agenda and a trip to the many retail outlets on the coast near Montegranaro which offer discount prices on such names as Tods, Prada and others.

ACCOMMODATION DETAILS

Three apartments sleeping from two to eight guests, each with independent access, their own kitchens, outdoor areas, bedrooms and bathrooms all with showers.

Apt Granaio small but comfortable apartment with a fully equipped groundfloor fully equipped kitchen and living area. Upstairs is an en suite double bedroom and a sun-kissed terrace. (Sleeps 2)

Apt Greppia groundfloor with living room/fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and laundry room. First floor with two bedrooms, one double with en suite bathroom and a second doubleroom with an extra single bed on request. (Sleeps 4/5)

Apt Canestraio very spacious apartment, groundfloor large living room and fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and laundry room. Upstairs are four bedrooms, three doubles and one twin, with the possibility to add single beds to some rooms. Two bedrooms are en suite with the other two bedrooms sharing a bathroom. There is a large covered loggia on the ground floor providing a shady outdoor space for dining (Sleeps 8)
