Villa Le Pratole

Near Montalto, Marche, Italy

Newly restored farmhouse, sleeping up to 10 guests in two apartments, with swimming pool (12x5m)

This beautiful villa was newly restored in 2005 and has been finished to a high standard to complement its wonderful setting over the Tesino Valley.

Set in a wonderful part of Marche and equidistant between the Adriatic Sea and the Monti Sibillini mountains, Vill Le Pratole could not be better placed to take advantage of Marche's twin treasures.

Travel time to the stunning national park, home to some of the highest peaks in the Apennines at well over 8,000ft,  is a mere 25 minutes. And in the same time you can head to the coast and take advantage of the many resorts such as San Benedetto, Pedaso and Porto San Giorgio, which in the summer months are popular with Italian holiday-makers.

The national park boasts some of the most beautiful yet least known landscapes in the whole of Italy - such as the  vast Piano Grande, a huge plain found at 5,000ft altitude and surrounded by mountain peaks, which in the summer months is carpeted with an amazing assortment of flowers reminiscent of a rainbow.

Wildlife abounds in the Monti Sibillini National Park, with a stable wolf population, deer, plenty of wild boar (often on the menu!), porcupines, hares, eagles, falcons and hawks all present in the park.

And around Montalto there is an endless choice of places to dine very well and at modest expense. The area has a number of agriturismos which provide excellent home cooked food made from local ingredients and products and each of the small towns around the villa have at least one good restaurant.

Near Villa Le Pratole is also the village of Montottone, home of the famous Bozzi Pottery, with handmade pots and crockery made to ancient designs.

With the towns of Fermo, Offida, Ascoli Piceno and Amandola all within easy driving distance and an abundance of other historic hilltop towns also close by, many with their own town festivals and sagras, a stay at Villa Le Pratole is a real opportunity to make the most of Marche's varied delights.
