Enchanting country house, with five apartments sleeping between two and four guests, with floodlit swimming pool (12x5m)

Perched on the softly sloping hills above Jesi which make this region such a venerated wine growing location, Casa Montali is picturebook Italy at its most intoxicating.

Sloping away below the well manicured and balconied garden of the villa are 10 hectares of organic vines tended by the owner. They produce prized D.O.C. Verdicchio every year which then ages in the cantina set below the house and garden.

Wine enthusiasts and enthusiastic wine drinkers staying here are welcomed to the regular wine tasting events normally held on a Friday in the wine cellar below the house and traditional cooking lessons are also arranged on request.

The property itself has been restored with care and attention by the owner and each apartment has modern conveniences such as air conditioning and satellite TV while maintaining the best in rustic Marchigiani architecture, with beams and terracotta a constant theme.

The nearest village, Monte Roberto Basso is just ten minutes walk away and has a pizzeria, restaurant, chemist and other shops.

Jesi is a short drive and should not be missed. Apart from its undoubted standing as a centre for excellent wine the town is an elegant and eclectic mix of lively culture and beautiful architecture, not least the striking and massive medieval town walls that surrounf the town. It is also home to the renowned composer Pergolesi and the Teatro Pergolesi, also named after him.

ACCOMMODATION DETAILS

- Apartments Pergolesi and Spontini are found in the old hay barn next to the main building and have a communicating door which can be unlocked so they can be rented together or separately. Outside is a covered loggia next to the pool providing a perfect place to dine or just relax by the pool. Each is equipped with a small modern kitchen/living area with four hob cooker, oven, fridgefreezer, dishwasher and sofa bed. Ensuite double bedroom with shower.

- Apartment Rossini is nicely furnished with a mix of antique and modern and is found off the annex to the main building on the ground floor. Entrance is into a beautiful kitchen/living area (kitchen as Apt Pergolesi) and then on to a twin (or double) bedroom with bathroom and shower. Patio doors lead out to garden, table and chairs and pool.

- Apartments Corelli and Gigli are on the first floor of the main building reached by a communal internal staircase. Each has a  simple kitchen corner, sofa bed and four hob cooker  and portable oven and microwave on request. Apt Corelli has a fireplace and wonderful terrace off the double ensuite bedroom (shower) with views over Jesi. Apt Gigli is as Apt Corelli but without terrace and fireplace.
