This holiday farmhouse is a great example of how to combine environmentally friendly building practices with a high quality restoration.
All the apartments have been carefully finished to a high standard, using environmentally friendly and traditional techniques.
Traditional plaster has been used wherever possible and during all aspects of the restoration intensive efforts were made to avoid the use of chemicals, opting instead for natural products.
Electricity in the building is provided by solar panels and all the water from the swimming pool is recycled and used to water the garden.
The result is an authentically restored farmhouse which has married modern design and comfort with traditional methods and high quality artisanship.
Views from the property are very panoramic, taking in the Sibillini mountains and the nearby villages of Regnano and Paterno.
The nearest shop is 200m away and Paterno is just 2km away.
At 7km is the busy little town of Tolentino, a destination for pilgrims across Italy, who come to pray at the shrine of St Nicholas.
The town has many interesting historical features and architecture, such as the nearby Castello della Rancia, an early medieval caste with impressive battlements.
In the town itself there are many good restaurants offering typical Marche dishes traditionally cooked. Well worth a visit is the evocative central square, the Piazza della Libertą.
ACCOMMODATION DETAILS
Apartment Elfi (sleeps 2/3) is on the first floor, reached by covered external stairs. Entry is into a small simple kitchen/living room. One double bedroom also has space for a single bed if necessary and there is a bathroom and shower.
Apartments Ulivi and Alloro (sleep 2/4) are both on the ground floor. Apt Alloro has a simple kitchen, double bedroom, disabled access bathroom with shower and portico for outdoor dining. Apt Ulivi has a simple kitchen, double bedroom and bunk bed, spacious bathroom with shower and an airy portico outside ideal for outdoor dining.
Apartment Sibilla (sleeps 4/6) is on the first floor and has stunning views, a spacious kitchen/living room area and two en suite double rooms and a double sofa bed.
Apartment Granaio (sleeps 6/8) is the largest apartment and has three en suite bedrooms, two arranged as doubles and the third as a twin. The well equipped kitchen leads out onto a roof terrace with stunning views over the hills and mountains. The bedrooms also have nice views, one lookin across to the the local village church.
