The owner is an architect and house restorer and has put to work his considerable talent on this property to create an elegant and stylish interior. The villa maintains traditional features such as the old chestnut beams and terracotta tiles and all the rooms are light and airy. Bathrooms are modern and clean and exquisitely tiled. The ground floor front entrance is through a portico and leads into the living room and onto the kitchen. At the back of the property is a second portico and the unusually shaped swimming pool and surrounding garden, from where the vista is truly wonderful, making al fresco dining a doubly pleasurable experience.Upstairs are three spacious and light bedrooms boasting the same splendid views. There are also two bathrooms while a further shower and loo is located in the laundry room downstairs. The property is a five minute, 2 km drive from the hilltop village of Gualdo, a pretty village in the heart of Marche which like many of its neighbours has maintained its old worldy charm but has benefitted from considerable restoration to many of its most beautiful buildings. It has a shop, bank, chemist and restaurant and a rich history. A little further away is the bustling and pretty town of Sarnano, nestled beneath the imposing Apennines, famed for its curative spa and home to restaurants, bars and ice-cream parlours. In summer Italians and tourists flock to the historic medieval town to take advantage of the spa and the beautiful walking in the Sibillini mountains to which Sarnano forms a natural gateway. In winter too the town is popular with Italians as it is close to the local ski resorts.
