Casa Bentivoglio
Near Gualdo, Marche, Italy
Restored farmhouse and barn sleeping up to twelve guests, with swimming pool (10x5m)
Casa Bentivoglio is found in the midst of the green foothills of Marche's Sibillini Mountain National Park, about 3km from Gualdo, which at 650 metres above sea-level has some of the most breathtaking views in the whole of central Italy.
The medieval hill top village is located in the province of Macerata and is part of
the Comunità Montana dei Monti Azzurri or The Mountain Community of the Blue Mountains.
The country house was built in various phases from the end of the nineteenth century onwards and the renovation completed in 2007 using local stone, wood, tiles, and cork.
An enclosed fenced garden with lawns leads down to the swimming pool with views across the valley and down to the Salino brook.
Adjacent to the main property is a mini apartment with en suite double bedroom and kitchen living room and a one-room flat with disabled access and bathroom and kitchen corner.
Four rooms on the first floor of the main property complete the six bedrooms which can be arranged as doubles or twins as required. All bedrooms are en suite.
On the ground floor a spacious dining-room leads off a professional standard kitchen and through to the large main sitting room dominated by a beautiful large old fireplace.
Hand-painted flowers on the doors and furniture throughout this Marche farmhouse fashioned by the owner Claudia give the property a delightful rustic touch.
And a covered portico accessed from the sitting room and kitchen makes the perfect spot for outdoor dining in the shade while taking in the nice view of the valley opposite.
Olives, fruit trees and other plants including fig trees are dotted around the garden and guests are welcome to help themselves.
